Who are we ?
Gautrot is a small workshop located in Vals-les-Bains in France (Ardèche), our brand was born from a collaboration between Geoffray Guillermain, artisan creator and a small team highlighting his art by offering it to the general public.
Our wish is to accompany people on an inner journey through the contemplation of the marriage between art and nature.
From crystallization to contemplation
Revalue wood, discover its hidden reliefs and then protect it to better contemplate it. It is in this approach that, following a quest for reconnection with the material, turned towards woodworking.
From sculpture to pyrography, Geoffray fell in love with this noble material, which revealed its diversity to him as he expressed his art.
From padouk to olive, the different types of wood manipulated by his hands all ended up taking the path of polishing. It is through the friction of the grains that Geoffray thus defined his designs.
Little by little, Geoffray Guillermain dug into the heart of his pieces to discover their secrets. It was through a process of opening that he was able to observe their subtleties.
He ends up crystallizing the intimacy of his pieces thanks to the only two-component that lets light through without damaging the wood: resin.
Today, new components arouse the curiosity of the creator, such as silica with its iridescent effects.
